Flourishing Families

Welcome to Flourishing Families! In 2008, I began my journey learning what it means to parent children with less than ideal behaviors. I was immediately aware of the intense relationship between parenting children and God parenting me, as well as the unfortunate relationship between the children's rebellion against authority and my own unruly heart. The children's rebellion and anger mirrored my own distrust of authority and entitled attitudes. And more importantly, I knew I needed to respond to their less than pleasant attitudes and behaviors in the kind and loving discipline the Lord provides for me. That is an impossible task without God's help and community support. These experiences led me to desire to help others on their parenting journey and Christian walk.

Hello! I am JemiJean! I am passionate about helping create genuine, connected people with meaningful relationships. I received my Master's of Education in Professional Counseling from Oklahoma City University in 2020. I have over 15 years experience working with children, teens, adults and parents, focusing on behavior problems, healthy attachments, emotional regulation and healthy family units. My current hobbies include spending time with my nieces, white-water rafting, and snuggling with my fluffy cat, Flannel.
